PH.D ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Ph.D is a higher standard academic or professional Programme which will be very useful for teaching their chosen subject at university level or to work in a specialized position in their chosen field.
Ph.D is a research programme based on the thesis work. Doctor of Philosophy is a high level of recognized and authorative programme being offered by top level institutions in India. Ph.D is not only to get higher level jobs with severe roles and responsibilities with high peak salary but also gives you a status of Doctorate. Ph.D is one of the most reputed and high demanded qualification which usually enroll by the students who need deep exercises on dissertation. Subjects, the mode of thesis, research area all are depend upon student's past academic records. Today, almost every higher level academic institutions in India, including HSV offers Ph.D programmes in varied field of study.
Just similar to MS by research, here too students can choose courses in first two semesters on the basis of their interest and past master subjects. After passing with knowledge and learning test as a part of entrance exam by the students, can carry with dissertation program with research and testing program. With this test, students are examined whether they are position to get with these research programs or not. After knowledge test, each candidate is handed over with respective study material and courses curriculum and also appoint a supervisor by HSV that assist their students on varied stages of Phd programmes.
Eligibility & Selection Procedure For Ph.D
• Aspirant must have secured 55% aggregate marks in relevant subject in Post-graduation or M.Phil
• Download the Application form from the websit, www.hsv.org.in at research icon.
• Fill the form and attach the required testimonials and enclose research proposal at least of two pages
• Enclose Rs. - DD in favour of ------------.
• Sent the above documents to HSV------------
• Have to appear in the Entrance Examination followed by Interview/ DRC before the Doctoral Research Committee as and when intimated by the University.
Eligibility Entrance test
1. Eligibility:
A candidate who has obtained a Master's degree in the subject or related field with at least 55% marks in aggregate or has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission may apply for Admission for the Ph.D. degree for pursuing her research work under the guidance of a supervisor approved by the HSV. Every applicant is expected to attach Master's degree marks sheet along with the application. Every candidate will appear in the Research Entrance Test (RET) which will be conducted online. Qualifying RET is a mandatory requirement for enrollment, and until that stage, the admission shall be treated as provisional.
2. Exemption from the requirement of appearing in RET:
(i) A candidate who have qualified NET, SLET, GATE or M.Phil. (If the candidate was admitted to M.Phil. through a research entrance test) may be exempted from the entrance test.
(ii) A candidate belonging to the Faculty of Fine Arts (Visual Art, Music & Dance) and Design, will be exempted from the entrance examination. Such candidates should contact the research section separately.
Note:
The list of all eligible candidates amongst the candidates who apply for Ph.D programme will be displayed on the HSV website. The eligible candidates will be invited for the Written Test (Research Entrance Test - RET) to be held at various major cities in India and Abroad countries. Candidates can opt to take the RET at any of the exam centres. The model paper and rules for the Research Entrance Test (RET) along with the guidelines for shortlisting will be put up on the HSV website. The list of shortlisted candidates from the eligible list of candidates for all the programmes will be displayed on the HSV website. These candidates will be required to appear for the Personal Interview’s as per the email communication sent to them. Candidates with visual impairment will have to indicate the impairment in the application form. They will be provided with a writer for the written test. The final selection process will be completed and the final list of candidates and relevant information will be uploaded on the HSV website. All candidates who appear in the final selection list are required to bring a hard copy of their duly filled in application form duly filled along with original caste, income and degree certificates as applicable for verification. Selected candidates are expected to pay fees. All the programmes will begin on a date as indicated in the offer letter at the time of admission.
